We manage a unique equipment database which matches the availability of high quality, second-hand firefighting and crash extrication equipment to our member’s projects.
The project and equipment database is accessible to our members. Information on membership can be viewed here.
Why Donate?
Donating equipment via our database allows the donor traceability of their equipment. Donors have direct access to the database and therefore a record of what equipment was donated and to which project.
We ensure all equipment donations are made in an ethical and sustainable context, directly to the recipients and always alongside relevant training. We work with emergency services, local organisations and government agencies to make any donations part of a sustainable injury reduction and public safety strategy.
‘South Wales Fire and Rescue Service takes great satisfaction in gifting ‘end of life’ appliances and equipment. Fire authority members and senior management fully support this gifting and has now become part of core business. Gifting to FIRE AID is both environmentally and morally the best outcome that we can achieve and we hope to maintain this policy and relationship for as long as we possibly can.’
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Richard Prendergast, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
