Asian Fire Service Association (AFSA) trains volunteers at the Golden Temple, India

In May 2018 the Asian Fire Service Association (AFSA) provided a training programme in basic lifesaving skills to 150 people in the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The aim was to equip the volunteers who serve the Golden Temple in Amritsar with the knowledge and skills they require to apply first aid if required to worshippers. The team of volunteer professional paramedics/technicians and fire staff were selected for their skills and experience. The team was diverse in terms of men and women with considerable language and cultural experience to support the project.
