2014 World Rescue Challenge

FIRE AID member organisation the World Rescue Organisation (WRO) will be holding the 2014 World Rescue Challenge at the Fire Service College in the UK from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th October 2014.

FIRE AID member organisation the World Rescue Organisation (WRO) will be holding the 2014 World Rescue Challenge at the Fire Service College in the UK from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th October 2014.

This event will provide an opportunity for international firefighter teams to showcase their rescue skills and techniques whilst competing against other teams from across the globe. Teams will travel from across the globe to compete, including participants from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Chile, Colombia, France, Ghana, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Paraguay, Republic of Ireland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Venezuela, United Kingdom and United States of America.

The aim of the WRO is to provide a platform for rescue and medical personnel to share and advance rescue science and technology as teams compete in intense, realistic scenarios for title and trophy. The four-day World Rescue Challenge is expected to attract over 300 operational delegates, together with support teams and guests from up to twenty countries from around the world.

An open day will be held for members of the public on Saturday 11th October with a number of activities for all the family including a farmers’ market, fairground, incident ground tours, activities and refreshments.
