FIRE AID has written two articles promoting the work of UK volunteers Mike Pitney (EASST/Ukraine) and Matt Hitam (Operation Florian/Moldova). These articles are written by Julie Utting and published on the ‘500 Days 500 Ways’ website which promotes the many ways in which volunteers across the globe are so valuably contributing to sustainable development.

This ‘500 Days 500 Ways’ website’ aims to highlight the work of volunteers across continents and in a number of specialist functions as they have made a very real, but too often invisible, contribution to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.  As we count down the last 500 days of these goals, 500ways.org will feature a new volunteer story every day.
