FIRE AID becomes members of the UN Road Safety Collaboration

Wed 24, Oct, 2018

Last week FIRE AID, supported by our members EASST, UKRO and WRO presented our work at the 22nd session of the UN Road Safety Collaboration in Geneva and was subsequently welcomed as the newest member of the collaboration.

Our work falls within the UN Decade of Action’s 5th Pillar on Post-Crash Response where we hope to raise awareness of the vital role emergency services play in reducing the number of road fatalities internationally.

FIRE AID wholly endorses the vision and objectives of the UNRSC, and our own operations reflect the commitment to international cooperation and strengthened post-crash response operations through training programmes and delivery of essential equipment. Our work enhances the effectiveness of, and helps give a voice to, both voluntary and state led fire and rescue services  – thereby making emergency services personnel safer and their services more sustainable for the future.
