During the 22nd October 2015 annual Humanitarian Aid and International Development conference, a Memorandum of Understanding signing took place between Neil Gibbins, CEO of the Institution of Fire Engineers, and Jim Fitzpatrick MP, Chair of FIRE AID, to honour the new partnership forged between the two organisations.

The IFE is a registered charity working for societal benefit. Founded in 1918, the IFE assesses knowledge of fire and professional experience, awarding internationally recognised membership grades and fire-related qualifications. Learning opportunities are worldwide within the IFE fire community and the IFE delivers over 7,300 fire-related exams each year which are required by many Fire & Rescue Services for promotion both within the UK and internationally.

The signing marked future cooperation and a shared commitment to improving knowledge of fire safety internationally. Speaking to the delegates at the event, Mr Gibbins spoke about the role of the IFE in the UK and internationally and welcomed the new partnership with FIRE AID. Further updates on the partnership will be published here in due course.
