Moldova: Second National Extrication Challenge 2016

A team from the International Development Programme of the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) successfully delivered the second National Extrication Challenge with the Moldovan Department for Civil Protection and Emergency Situations in May 2016 hosted in the city of Balti.  

A team from the International Development Programme of the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) successfully delivered the second National Extrication Challenge with the Moldovan Department for Civil Protection and Emergency Situations in May 2016 hosted in the city of Balti in northern Moldova.

Eight extrication teams participated involving 48 Moldovan personnel. Command, Technical and Medical Assessor workshops were conducted too, resulting in 5 new assessors qualifying to regional level in all three areas.
The teams competed across ten scenarios with eight 30 minute scenarios and 2 complex scenarios.

The team from Echipu DCS2 were crowned as winners of the 2016 Extrication Challenge.

The third national extrication challenge will take place in 2017 with teams from all the regions services.
