At Operation Florian’s 2016 AGM, University of Manchester International Development Policy and Management (IDPM) researcher Laura Hirst presented to members her research and analysis report of Florian’s Macedonian project supprted by research supervisor and project manager Steve Jordan.
The intention of the research project was to enable Laura to gain insight into how Operation Florian delivers projects and to test the research methodolgy in preparation for her main focus of research in Zimbabwe. The field research enabled Laura to develop her own understanding and cultural awareness both to the operational capacities of Operation Florian working in a sector specific field of development and contextualising decentralisation impacts on the fire service and community based participatory activities.
The report recommendations will form the basis for future considerations on the project design and delivery and the Operation Florian project team are extremely grateful to Laura for producing an excellent report.
